Description

Banana Fritters are warm, sweet, and fluffy treats made from mashed ripe bananas mixed into a simple batter, then fried until golden and crispy. They’re perfect as a quick dessert, snack, or breakfast — delicious on their own or dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar or honey (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  2. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract; whisk until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick batter forms.
  5. Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat (around 350°F / 175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with honey.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth.
  • For a lighter version, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Serve with ice cream or caramel sauce for dessert.
