Description
Banana Fritters are warm, sweet, and fluffy treats made from mashed ripe bananas mixed into a simple batter, then fried until golden and crispy. They’re perfect as a quick dessert, snack, or breakfast — delicious on their own or dusted with powdered sugar.
Ingredients
- 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar or honey (for serving)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract; whisk until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick batter forms.
- Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat (around 350°F / 175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with honey.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth.
- For a lighter version, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve with ice cream or caramel sauce for dessert.
