Description

A quick, flavorful veggie stir fry combining tender broccoli and savory mushrooms in a garlicky soy sauce—perfect as a side or light main dish.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add broccoli florets and stir fry for 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook an additional 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and ginger and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and broth.
  6. Pour sauce into the pan and toss to coat.
  7. Add cornstarch slurry if using and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds.
  9. Serve as a side dish or over rice/noodles.

  • Add tofu or chicken for extra protein.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce for a lighter option.
  • Add bell peppers or snap peas for more color and texture.
