Description
A quick, flavorful veggie stir fry combining tender broccoli and savory mushrooms in a garlicky soy sauce—perfect as a side or light main dish.
Ingredients
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms (cremini or button)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add broccoli florets and stir fry for 3–4 minutes.
- Add mushrooms and cook an additional 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and ginger and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and broth.
- Pour sauce into the pan and toss to coat.
- Add cornstarch slurry if using and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds.
- Serve as a side dish or over rice/noodles.
Notes
- Add tofu or chicken for extra protein.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce for a lighter option.
- Add bell peppers or snap peas for more color and texture.
