Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp orange zest
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cardamom, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet, gently flattening each.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest to make the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies and let set before serving.
Notes
- Do not overbake to keep cookies tender.
- Glaze can be adjusted thicker or thinner with juice.
