Description

Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole is a hearty, family-friendly comfort food featuring layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy sauce, melted cheese, and crispy French fries baked to golden perfection — everything you love about a cheeseburger in one dish!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (28-ounce) bag frozen French fries
  • Optional toppings: chopped pickles, ketchup, mustard, or green onions


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic to the beef and cook for another 2–3 minutes until softened.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
  5. Remove from heat and mix in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese until combined.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Top with a layer of frozen French fries, spreading them out evenly.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crisp.
  9. Remove from oven and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with optional toppings like chopped pickles, ketchup, or green onions.
