Description

A comforting baked chicken dish smothered in marinara sauce and layers of melted mozzarella cheese, baked until bubbly and golden.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.
  4. Transfer chicken to the prepared baking dish.
  5. Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken.
  6. Top with shredded mozzarella and sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
