Description

Cheesy Taco Sticks are a fun, handheld twist on classic tacos — filled with seasoned beef and melted cheese, wrapped in pizza dough, and baked until golden and crispy. Perfect for snacks, parties, or quick dinners!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano or parsley
  • Salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Unroll the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into 8 equal rectangles.
  5. Spoon a small amount of taco meat and shredded cheese down the center of each rectangle.
  6. Fold the sides over the filling and pinch the seams tightly to seal. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  7. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and oregano.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use crescent roll dough instead of pizza dough for a softer texture.
  • For a spicy version, add diced jalapeños or pepper jack cheese to the filling.
  • Freeze before baking for an easy make-ahead snack — bake from frozen for 15–18 minutes.
  • Serve with nacho cheese sauce for an indulgent dipping option.
