Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F).
  2. Pour melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  4. Stir in buttermilk until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
  6. Spread biscuit dough evenly over melted butter (do not mix).
  7. Score dough into 9 squares before baking.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.
