Description
A moist and rich banana bread infused with deep chocolate flavor and a hint of espresso, perfect for breakfast or an indulgent snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp espresso powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, and espresso powder.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Mix in mashed bananas and sour cream until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until incorporated.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
- Espresso powder enhances chocolate flavor without making it taste like coffee.
