Description
Classic cannoli flavors transformed into easy-to-serve dessert squares with a crisp crust and a creamy ricotta filling studded with chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole-milk ricotta cheese, drained
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp chopped pistachios (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar.
- Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Bake crust for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat ricotta and cream cheese until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon; mix until well combined.
- Fold in mini chocolate chips.
- Spread filling evenly over cooled crust.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 hours until set.
- Slice into squares, garnish with pistachios if desired, and serve chilled.
Notes
- Drain ricotta well to prevent a watery filling.
- For extra authenticity, add a touch of orange zest.
- Store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
