Description

Classic cannoli flavors transformed into easy-to-serve dessert squares with a crisp crust and a creamy ricotta filling studded with chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole-milk ricotta cheese, drained
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp chopped pistachios (optional, for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar.
  3. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  4. Bake crust for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.
  5. In a large bowl, beat ricotta and cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon; mix until well combined.
  7. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
  8. Spread filling evenly over cooled crust.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours until set.
  10. Slice into squares, garnish with pistachios if desired, and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Drain ricotta well to prevent a watery filling.
  • For extra authenticity, add a touch of orange zest.
