Description
A bold and flavorful cowboy butter sauce made with melted butter, garlic, fresh herbs, spices, and a touch of lemon—perfect for steak, chicken, seafood, and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
Instructions
- Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook gently for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in Dijon mustard, lemon juice, lemon zest, smoked paprika, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove from heat and mix in fresh parsley and chives.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve warm as a sauce or allow to cool slightly to thicken.
Notes
- Great served with steak, shrimp, chicken, or roasted vegetables.
- Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 5 days.
- Can be poured into a mold and chilled to make compound butter.
