Description

A bold and flavorful cowboy butter sauce made with melted butter, garlic, fresh herbs, spices, and a touch of lemon—perfect for steak, chicken, seafood, and vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped


Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook gently for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in Dijon mustard, lemon juice, lemon zest, smoked paprika, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in fresh parsley and chives.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve warm as a sauce or allow to cool slightly to thicken.

Notes

  • Great served with steak, shrimp, chicken, or roasted vegetables.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 5 days.
  • Can be poured into a mold and chilled to make compound butter.
