Description

Creamy Lemon Garlic Salmon Piccata is a rich yet bright dish featuring pan-seared salmon fillets in a velvety lemon-garlic cream sauce with capers, inspired by classic Italian piccata flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp capers, drained
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the salmon for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add the capers and return the salmon to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the fillets.
  7. Simmer for another 2 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the salmon to keep it tender and juicy.
  • You can substitute coconut cream for heavy cream if desired.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
