Description
Creamy Lemon Garlic Salmon Piccata is a rich yet bright dish featuring pan-seared salmon fillets in a velvety lemon-garlic cream sauce with capers, inspired by classic Italian piccata flavors.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 2 tbsp capers, drained
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the salmon for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add the capers and return the salmon to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the fillets.
- Simmer for another 2 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcook the salmon to keep it tender and juicy.
- You can substitute coconut cream for heavy cream if desired.
- Serve with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
