Description

Golden and crispy air fryer apple fries coated in cinnamon sugar, tender on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. A fun and lighter dessert or snack that’s quick to make and irresistibly delicious.


Ingredients

  • 3 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (100g) panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup (65g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Cooking spray
  • Caramel sauce for dipping (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the apples and slice them into fry-shaped sticks.
  3. Set up a dredging station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with half of the cinnamon.
  4. Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip into the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the coated apple fries in a single layer without overcrowding.
  6. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray and air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar with remaining cinnamon and nutmeg.
  8. Immediately toss the warm apple fries in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Serve warm with caramel sauce for dipping if desired.

  • Work in batches to avoid overcrowding for maximum crispiness.
  • For extra crunch, double coat the apples in egg and breadcrumbs.
