Description

An easy dump-and-bake chicken Parmesan casserole made with uncooked pasta, marinara sauce, tender chicken, and melted cheese, perfect for a quick family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Add uncooked pasta, chicken, marinara sauce, and water or broth to the dish.
  4. Stir in Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and stir to ensure pasta is evenly cooked.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Mix breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle over cheese.
  9. Bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and top is golden.
  10. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for extra convenience.
  • Ensure dish is tightly covered for proper pasta cooking.
  • Broil for 2–3 minutes for a crispier topping.
