Description
Dump-and-Bake Chicken Parmesan is an easy one-dish meal where chicken, marinara sauce, pasta, and cheese are combined and baked together for a simple, comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked penne or rotini pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth or water
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, combine uncooked pasta, marinara sauce, and chicken broth.
- Stir in diced chicken, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until pasta is tender and chicken is cooked through.
- Remove foil and stir gently.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Add breadcrumbs if using.
- Bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Ensure dish is tightly covered to cook pasta properly.
- Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
