Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, mix the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in toffee bits and chocolate chips if using.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing evenly.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Do not overbake for chewy cookies.
- Chilling dough for 30 minutes enhances flavor.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
