Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions over medium heat until softened and lightly caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in French onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and garlic powder.
- Simmer 5–7 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Reduce heat and stir in sour cream until creamy.
- Add cooked noodles and fold gently to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
- Optional: Top with cheese, cover, and let melt for 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
