Description
A classic homemade Banoffee pie featuring a buttery biscuit base, creamy dulce de leche, fresh bananas, and light whipped cream, finished with chocolate for a perfect balance of flavors.
Ingredients
- 2 cups digestive biscuits or graham crackers, crushed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Dark chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine crushed biscuits with melted butter until well mixed.
- Press the mixture firmly into the base and sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
- To prepare dulce de leche, simmer the unopened can of condensed milk in water for 2 hours, keeping it fully submerged. Allow it to cool before opening.
- Spread the dulce de leche evenly over the cooled crust.
- Layer sliced bananas over the caramel.
- Whip the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Spread or pipe whipped cream over the banana layer.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

- Ensure the condensed milk can cool completely before opening.
- Lightly brushing bananas with lemon juice helps prevent browning.
