Description

Light, airy churro bites made from angel food cake cubes, fried until crisp and coated in cinnamon sugar for an easy, irresistible treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared angel food cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Caramel sauce or chocolate sauce (optional, for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Cut the angel food cake into 1–1.5 inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. Heat 1–2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the cake cubes in batches for 30–45 seconds per side, or until golden and crispy.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and immediately toss in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
  6. Serve warm with caramel or chocolate sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • Do not over-fry—angel food cake browns quickly.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar.
  • Best served immediately while warm and crisp.
  • Use an air fryer for a lighter version (375°F for 4–5 minutes).
