Description
A creamy, flavorful chicken dish cooked in a sun-dried tomato Parmesan sauce—so delicious it’s said to inspire marriage proposals.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
- Pour in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, thyme, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir and bring to a simmer.
- Return chicken to the skillet, reduce heat, and simmer for 10–12 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- Bone-in chicken thighs may be used with a slightly longer cooking time.
