Description
A sweet and salty treat made with crunchy pretzels, rich homemade caramel, and melted chocolate, broken into bark-style pieces.
Ingredients
- 4 cups mini pretzels
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Additional flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread pretzels evenly in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and sea salt.
- Pour caramel evenly over the pretzels and spread gently with a spatula.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel.
- Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Cool completely, then refrigerate 1 hour before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Use dark chocolate for a less sweet bark.
- Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
- Store in the fridge to keep the bark firm.
