Description

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp fresh orange juice (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tbsp sugar; let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, and orange zest.
  3. Add yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter evenly.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar and drizzle orange juice over the dough.
  8. Roll up tightly and slice into 12 rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 22–25 minutes until golden.
  11. Whisk powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla to make glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.
